Our Story
When the conflict in Sudan erupted in April 2023, the world's attention quickly moved on — but the suffering didn't. Sanaabil was founded by a group of concerned Muslims who refused to look away. Our name, meaning "ears of wheat" in Arabic, comes from the Quranic promise that a single act of charity can multiply sevenfold, each ear bearing a hundred grains.
We started small — organizing local fundraisers and coordinating with partners on the ground in Sudan. But the need was overwhelming. What began as a community response grew into a structured humanitarian operation, delivering food, building shelters, and providing medical care to thousands of displaced families.
Today, Sanaabil operates across multiple regions in Sudan, with a focus on Darfur, Khartoum, and the eastern border areas. We remain volunteer-driven and committed to ensuring that every dollar donated reaches the people who need it most.
وَمَآ أَنفَقْتُم مِّن شَىْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهُۥ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
"And whatever you spend in His cause, He will replace it. And He is the best of providers."
— Surah Saba 34:39
What Guides Us
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful." Compassion is at the heart of everything we do.
We are accountable stewards of every donation. Transparency in our operations ensures your trust is honored.
We serve people as they deserve — with respect and honor. Aid is delivered with the dignity of every human being in mind.
We stand with the oppressed. Islam calls us to act justly, and we answer that call through direct humanitarian action.
